Ambassadors

Prominent musical personalities who are especially connected to Georg Philipp Telemann's work, are being nominated by the international city network - consisting of the ten living and working places of the composer - Magdeburg, Clausthal-Zellerfeld, Hildesheim, Leipzig, Żary (Poland), Pszczyna (Poland), Eisenach, Frankfurt am Main, Hamburg and Paris (France) - as musical ambassadors.
This is intended to emphasize the outstanding importance of the composer, especially in the Telemann Year 2017. The ambassadors will publicly recall the role of Telemann as the most important German composer of his time and, of course, to let

Through their knowledge and experience, they are to contribute to the fact that the Telemann Year 2017 is to radiate beyond the music world into politics and society and the cultural heritage associated with Telemann is paved the way into education, training and social discourse. In addition to Dorothee Oberlinger, the violinist and conductor Reinhard Goebel was appointed as Telemann Ambassador in 2017; in addition, further international appointments are planned by the network.
