Telemann in Hildesheim

How does the active examination with Telemann’s life and work look like in Hildesheim?
Telemann went to the Gymnasium Andreanum in Hildesheim from his 16th until his 20th year of life. The school exists to this day and has a concert hall that bears his name. Throughout the year many concerts and events are held here. A street in the so-called musicians district also bears his name. The musicians in the Hildesheim churches regularly perform concerts by Georg Philipp Telemann. For the 1200-year anniversary of the city and diocese, happening in 2015, Telemann’s „Ino“ – the late gods cantata – was performed in the World Heritage site of St. Michaelis and was illuminated by the light artist Yvonne Goulbier.
