Which highlights does your city offer throughout the Telemann year 2017?
The highlight of the celebrations in the Telemann year 2017 are the 18^th Eisenach Telemann days taking place from June, 10^th to 25^th, which are in view of the 250^th anniversary of Telemann’s death in the year of the 500^th anniversary of the reformation under the motto „Chime Reformation – Telemann and the church music”. For the events during the Eisenach double anniversary year again numerous internationally renowned artists are expected. The final concert of Telemann’s 250^th anniversary entitled „Telemann and Luther” is performed by the Bach Consort Leipzig and the Saxon Baroque Orchestra under the direction of Gotthold Schwarz, cantor of St. Thomas’ church in Leipzig.
